Who runs this site
escondidoeducation.org is published by the Escondido Education Foundation, a California nonprofit corporation recognised by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Using the site means you accept what is on this page.
Donations
Donations are voluntary gifts, and gifts are not refundable as a rule. We are human about it: if you gave twice by accident, entered the wrong amount, or something plainly went wrong, tell us within thirty days and we will sort it out.
Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are not your tax adviser, so please check with yours. For a gift of 250 dollars or more the IRS requires a written acknowledgement from us before you claim it, and we send one.
Gifts go to the foundation's general grant making unless you tell us otherwise in writing. Where a gift is given for a stated purpose and that purpose becomes impossible, the board may redirect it to the closest similar use.
Event tickets
Ticket sales close when the event begins. Tickets are not refundable, because the food, the room and the staffing are paid for in advance, but they are transferable. If you cannot come, send somebody in your place and tell us the name.
If the foundation cancels an event outright, ticket holders may choose a refund or may leave the amount as a donation. Prices shown are per person unless the page says otherwise.
Grants
Information about Innovation Grants and awards is published to help educators apply. Publishing it is not a promise of funding. Awards are decided by the board against the criteria in the application materials, and the board's decision is final.
What is on the pages
We work to keep everything here accurate and current, and we do make mistakes. Nothing on this site is professional, legal, or tax advice. Where we link to another organisation we are pointing at them, not vouching for what they publish.
Using our material
The words, photographs, and the foundation's name and logo belong to the Escondido Education Foundation or to whoever licensed them to us. You are welcome to quote and link to us, and to share our material to support Escondido schools. Please ask before using the logo or a photograph of a child for anything else. Grant reports written by educators remain theirs, published here with their agreement.
Liability
This site is offered as it is. To the extent the law allows, the foundation and its volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
The rest
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If part of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we change these terms, the date at the top changes with them.
