Innovation
Innovation is the whole point.
Everything the Escondido Education Foundation funds comes back to one idea: back the educators who are willing to try something new, and give their students the experience that follows.
Our approach
On the front edge of what a classroom can be.
The core of every Escondido Education Foundation program is embracing innovation and empowering learning. We are proud to work at the leading edge, helping build an advanced, technology rich learning environment inside Escondido Union School District classrooms.
Our commitment to transformative education has produced a set of initiatives that act as catalysts for change. Each one exists because an educator asked for something a standard budget could not reach, and the community answered.
Together with educators, students, parents, and the wider community, we work to help every child uncover their own potential. We provide the opportunities and resources to develop their skills and interests, because confidence is built through experience and mastery, and our programs are built to deliver both through real, hands on work.
The programs
Three initiatives, one purpose.
Each of these began as a response to something educators told us they could not otherwise do.
Innovation Awards
An annual award recognizing and rewarding the educators who think outside the box. It celebrates inventive teaching and, just as importantly, keeps a culture of imaginative problem solving alive across our schools.
See the submission guidelinesiRead
Our flagship literacy initiative, blending technology with traditional methods to build a real love of reading. Interactive and immersive reading has proved instrumental in lifting literacy and comprehension across every grade level.
Music Initiative
We understand what music does for a young mind, so we have invested heavily here. The program sparks creativity, encourages emotional expression, and builds an appreciation for cultural diversity, giving students an outlet to tap their own artistic talent.
Why it works
Collaboration is the backbone.
Working together is what turns an innovative idea into an action that reaches a student. In doing that, we are not only improving learning here, we are setting a mark for what progressive education can look like anywhere.
With a lasting commitment to innovation and a steady focus on empowering learning, we are shaping the education of tomorrow, today, in Escondido classrooms.
