Paint & Sip

An evening of creativity for a great cause. Paint a sunset scene alongside your neighbors, with wine, snacks, and desserts, hosted by Salon Sultry on Grand Avenue. Every dollar of proceeds goes toward innovative projects in Escondido Union School District classrooms.

The details

Everything you need to know.

You do not need to have painted anything since grade school. Everything is set out for you, you are walked through the scene step by step, and you go home with the canvas.

Tickets

$50 per person.

Places are limited by the size of the room, so it is worth booking early. Bring a friend and take home two paintings.

Prefer not to book online, or have a question about the evening? Send us a message and we will take care of it.

Where the money goes

All proceeds go straight to Escondido classrooms.

Paint & Sip is run by volunteers and hosted by a local business, which keeps the costs down and means what you pay for a ticket does real work.

Foundation grants pay for the things a public school budget cannot always reach: classroom sets of books, instruments, coding hardware, garden beds, microscopes, and the field experiences students remember years later. An evening of painting and good company turns into a real project in a real classroom a few miles from where you are sitting.

Our host

Thank you to Salon Sultry.

Salon Sultry is hosting the evening at their studio at 217 E Grand Ave, on Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido. Local businesses opening their doors like this is what keeps foundation events affordable, and it is why so much of every ticket reaches a classroom rather than a venue bill.

Finding us

Getting there.

Salon Sultry is on East Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido, in the middle of the shops and restaurants and a few minutes from the 78. There is street parking on Grand and public parking in the blocks either side. Doors are at 6:00, so allow a little time to park and settle in.

Before you come

Common questions

Do I need to be able to paint?

Not at all. Everyone paints the same sunset scene and you are talked through it a step at a time. Half the fun is that no two canvases in the room come out alike.

What is included in the ticket?

Your canvas, brushes, and paints, plus wine, snacks, and desserts through the evening. You take the painting home with you.

How do I get my tickets?

Tickets are booked online through Zeffy, our ticketing partner. You get a confirmation by email, and your name goes on the door list, so there is nothing to print.

Can I book for a group?

Yes, and it is a good evening for one. Book a place for each person in your group, and send us a message so we can seat you together.

Is my ticket tax deductible?

Ticket purchases are generally not fully deductible, because you receive goods and services in return, including refreshments and materials. The Escondido Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, so a portion may qualify. Please confirm with your tax advisor. A straight donation is deductible to the extent allowed by law.

What if I cannot make it after all?

Send us a message as early as you can so we can offer your place to somebody else. Many guests choose to let the ticket stand as a donation to the classrooms.

Should I wear anything in particular?

Wear something you would not mind getting a spot of paint on. Aprons are provided, but paint has a way of finding a sleeve.
