Leila Sackfield, pictured on the right, is a founding member of the Escondido Education Foundation.  She was honored today by the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.   Among Leila’s many accomplishments is her dedication to the students in the Escondido Union School District.  She cares so much about the students, she rescinded her retirement plan so she could help the district meet the needs of  every child during the pandemic.  In my book, that is going above and beyond!  In my 32 years of teaching, I have never met a district administrator who knows more and cares more about the teachers and students.  She has served on the EEF grants committee and almost always knows what the teacher submitting wants and needs for the students.

Pam Putnicki is accompanying Leila in this photo.  She also was honored today by the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.  In addition to DKG, Pam presently serves on the EEF board.  She is a mainstay of our board, involved in every aspect of the EEF, just as she does for DKG.  The EEF certainly appreciates her smiling face, cheerfulness, her creative talents, and her “can-do” attitude.  The EEF is lucky to have her on board!!
